Welcome to Dahl Cutting Horses located at the base of the mountains in Wilson, Wyoming, seven miles from the beautiful town of Jackson, Wyoming. Our business is surrounded by Fish Creek on two sides.

Mel Dahl has been involved professionally with cutting horses since 1983. He has studied with some of the great cutting horse trainers including Bill Freeman, Leon Harrel and Bobby Nelson. Mel grew up on the family ranch in South Dakota and still is a corporate owner there.

He belongs to the Wyoming Cutting Horse Association, the Utah Cutting Horse Association, the Idaho Cutting Horse Association and the Montana Cutting Horse Association. He is also the Vice President of the Central Wyoming Cutting Horse Association.

His specialty is working with the non pros and guiding them to becoming better cutters. He also trains futurity colts and puts them into a program that peaks with the fall futurities.

The Dahls also stand Brigadier Bob, a son of the immortal Bob Acre Doc, winner of over $381,000 and the only stallion to ever win the World in the Open and the Non Pro. Brigadier Bob has his Certificate of Ability and was a finalist at the Gold Coast and a finalist in the Open at the Western Nationals. We started showing his colts this year and he won a Kelly Graham Bronze for the Central Wyoming Stallion Stakes for the High Point Stallion.
